Just finished reading “The Island of the Center of the World”, a book that’s about the long forgotten Dutch Manhattan. It shows how the Dutch pluralistic culture their tolerance of others and their emphasis on trade give birth to a city that is essentially different from the rest of the America which was rooted from the Puritan culture. So first huge snow storm for a long time, totally ruined everyone’s weekend plans including mine~ I had the entire day planned out with 3 different activities on Saturday, with movie, high school group dinner, and jeffrey’s b-day party at a bar~ Only the movie happened according to the plan, it’s a japanese anime called Appleseed (yeah right, the title just happens to contain the word APPLE~ LOL), I kinda like it, it’s a few animation that have a very nice blend of 3D and 2D graphics, most mix animation …

So after the Macworld Expo we know the two new products from Apple are Mac mini and ipod Shuffle~ I think they are both great-looking product, the ipod shuffle is a little odd, but it just look so much like a candy bar~ kinda cute, hopefully I won’t eat it if i see one~ lol~ Mac mini definitely is the rebirth of the Cube, only that it is a cheaper and much less powerful one, but it looks great with both the metal and white mix casing, it looks like …

So I got cursed today over the phone by a very annoying and very rude student. He checked out some dvds over the X’mas break, while he return everything on time, but b/c of the irregular closing of the library during those two weeks, the circulation system nevertheless automatically charged late fine.
