Apple and Creative settles their legal disputes; Apple will pay Creative $100 million for license fee for the recently awarded patent Creative got; Creative has joined Apple’s “Made for ipod” program and will manufacture ipod accessories.

That’s the headline for today, and to that, I said BOO!!! Did you see Creative’s shameless statement saying that the licensing payment will contribute a certain earnings per share to their current quarter? Sure, that’s the way to earn money instead of making great products! To lock up patents and litigate! How ironic their company name is called “Creative”!
And what else? they also shamelessly joined the ipod party and will now make accessories for ipod! I wonder if that’s their way of waiving white flag on this digital music player war that they were so eager to win? Maybe they’ll stop making Zen players and stop supporting them soon since they are not selling well at all!! Seriously, the latest data shows that not only they can’t compete with Apple, they can’t even hold on their own marketshare and loses their second place to SanDisk! BOO!!
