My thoughts on Blogger beta
Because of the recent makeover of this blog, I was going through all the features and improvements i want to add to the blog, there are some feature that I want but wasn’t supported within Blogger. It still can be done but needed some complicated third-party solution. Well, the new Blogger beta came out this week and I am happy to learn that what I want is finally supported! It’s tags! I can finally categories my posts with the beta. They also have comment feed and a better navigation archive system that eliminate my JavaScript solution. But of course everything has a catch – no html customization yet and also not every existing blogger can merge their existing blog to the new beta yet, and that includes me~ They said they are working on adding html customization support and many other things soon (this is a beta afterall.) but that’s just a deal breaker for me, since I just put into so many customization in codes this month with the makeover. So until then I’ll stick with the old Blogger.
Other people suggested just move the whole thing to WordPress. I did consider that but decided against it for now. WordPress sounds good but yet a lot of work! need to get a hosting service, need to take care of a lot of things myself. I would love the total control power that WordPress give me, but i wonder if the require workload would turn me off blogging completely. So as of now, I am gonna continue to give Blogger a chance, wait for them to roll out the beta and add features that I want, and I’ll see how things goes in a couple of months.
