the Emmys

The Emmy Awards is probably one of the most annoying award show out of the pack. It’s never satisfying, many well-deserved shows were never even on the radar screen, whoever won the award will probably won again and again for the next 5 years until that show got off the air.
This year, it hasn’t change, and probably got worst with the new system when the nomination list excluded well-deserved shows that are hugely popular, aka Lost! The ignored shows are still being ignored. (Gilmore Girls is way funnier than let’s say Two and a half Man, and if John C. McGinley or Ken Jenkins (Dr. Cox and Bob Kelso) were ever got nominated as the best supporting actor, they will so crush all the competition!) This award show is pretty much hopeless, but i did find a few bright spots that was worth watching yesterday.
1) Calista!! she’s a presenter, I was so happy to see her! She skinnier than I remember though…
2) Brand new Mac ads at commercial time! oh I just love that hipster geek and that stupid corporate guy!
3) Conan is as always, stupid but funny!
4) Funniest moment: When the two fake news show host Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart take the stage to present the reality show category. They were awesome, I was laughing so hard when Colbert screamed “I lost to Barry Manilow! I lost to copacabana!!” refer to his lost in the individual performance in a variety or music program.

update: here’s link to the Opening Act, and the Stewart and Colbert segment.
