I wanted it for so long
In the past week there is a sudden jump in my desire for the iMac. It’s much stronger than when the new iMac came out back in September. I think about it like every minute! With such a strong desire, I am curious of how long have I wanted the iMac, so I did a little search on this blog and found 20 posts that contain iMac. The first one was on September 1st, 2004, a little over 2 years ago. The title of the post is “My #1 future purchase“, the #1 future purchase it referred to was the Powerbook, which i did get, but the iMac was also part of the plan in that post. The current iMac “form” – rectangular LCD display as a whole computer was introduced at that month, however it was still running G5. Then in May 2005 I have another post about iMac because it was newly revised. In that post I actually have an estimate time of buying the iMac – no earlier than Spring 2006! In Summer of 2005 when Steve dropped that bombshell of switching to intel, I wrote about my schedule would be late 2006 when it is intel-based. When Apple added iSight and Front Row to iMac in Fall of 2005, I wrote about it, but retain my estimated schedule late 2006. Who knew in a couple of months by January 2006 it will become intel-based so soon, and of course i was once again drooling over it This time firmly believed I will buy one and still tentatively scheduled it as a late 2006 purchase. Then finally come this past September when iMac is once again updated but this time added a 24″ giant model. At that time I wrote “serious consideration of getting one in a few months.”
Now here we are, late 2006, almost November. The year is coming to an end. My desire of this gorgeous machine is more than ever after more than two years of obsession. Will iMac once again update itself this coming January during Macworld? Will I wait until the next OS Leopard come pre-install in the machine in 2007 first? What will I do? What will be my final decision?
