British Show, Part III

20 March 2007 244 views No Comment

I started to watch another British TV show. Nope, not sci-fi one like Dr. Who or Torchwood, but a teen soap like O.C. and Dawson’s Creek, well, except it’s sexier and show more skins – maybe that’s why the show is called “Skins”~ The main reason that got me watching the show is the lead actor – Nicholas Hoult. Who is he? He’s the really sweet kid Marcus back in the movie “About A Boy” with Hugh Grant! The one that sang Killing me Softly with his song for his mom! I love that movie!! Now he’s all grow up and become this 6 foot something actor who’s playing this not so nice and sweet teenager in the show. Frankly it’s a little weird because his sweet kid Marcus image is just so burned to my mind because I watched that movie for so many times. But of course I can’t help it but to continue watching the show because, everything is better when there is a British accent~

Speaking of Britain, New York Magazine this week’s main feature is “London Vs. New York,” how London has now become the other New York, how it is overtaking as the world’s financial capital, and who’s the bigger terrorist target~ A fascinating read but ultimately, I will still vote for New York hands down! They might have a bigger Apple Store over there, but NY’s Apple Store is a lot more monumental with the cube entrance~ And as for Japanese Food, London just can’t compare to New York at all!!!!! NY has the best Japanese food outside of Japan, there’s no other American city or any city in the world can compare!

On another related note, New York is getting a “Little Britain” district in the village according to this article. We’ll see if it actually come true.
