Another Web 2.0 purchased

30 May 2007 719 views No Comment

A bit of Web 2.0 news – I have been following closely with the news about Last.fm, if you have been reading my blog you know I love their charts. Anyway today they were bought by CBS for $280m, (in comparison – Google bought YouTube with $165 Billions and Myspace was bought by News Corp. with $580m) I can see the potential benefits includes, looking after by a big guy if there’s any copyright loyalty issue going on, more music and music video (currently a lot of music is not available for preview or listen if you check the charts regularly), and last but not least, more money for new features development! Sounds like an excellent news to me as long as they retain their own identity and independent from CBS.
