CSS craze

16 May 2007 267 views No Comment

I did quite a few research in the last two weeks for all the neat tricks I can do to the blog. Now that I am officially in the phase of project to give the blog a new look, knowing more about CSS is a must. I play around with CSS last year when I did the current look of the blog, but didn’t truly trying to understand it. This time around I want to try a little harder to learn, so I was reading the books in the library and in the bookstore, browsing through all the tutorials I can find online. I think I have a basic understanding of it by now, what I am looking for right now is a more innovative use of CSS and something that will give me inspiration when creating the new look. I saw two books in the bookstore that I think is definitely good for this purpose – not for beginner to learn the syntax but for more in depth use. But they are too expensive, 49 bucks per book! I haven’t buy a computer book for a while and I forgot how expensive they are comparing to regular fiction! The two books are the Zen of CSS Design and Transcending CSS. I think I will put them on my Amazon Wish List which I haven’t even update or clean up for a while. I am really on the fence about either buying these books or buy the CSS editor program CSSedit. The program got great reviews and looks like it is going to be really helpful. I am trying the demo right now and do really appreciate the power of it. It does cost another 30 bucks though. So all together it will be $150….money money money……..sigh.
