Global Island

You all know how I am in love with maps right? So here is a fun one I found – a map of Manhattan, in a form of collage of nations! The maker labeled it the Global Island, he claims that the position of the nations are relative to where each country’s resident lives. He uses the 2000 US Census data to make the map. I highly doubt some of his “result” because seriously, most of the nations are way off from the infamous ethnic “towns” with the exception of Chinatown. Look at Korea, it’s all the way in Chelsea! It’s nowhere near the real Koreatown! Same as UK! it’s up in Hell’s kitchen and it’s nowhere near the Little Britain which is located in the Village! I give him credits that Japan and India is really near Little Tokyo and India street down in East Village. But I highly doubt there’s that many NewZealander right next to Chinatown! Anyway, it’s still a fun map to look at and it does show how unique New York City is.
