Parallels and games

I have been trying to make various Zoo Tycoon 2 expansion packs work on my computer. I installed Parallel so that it can run a virtual machine Win XP, but even after I successfully install the games, I couldn’t get them working correctly in terms of graphic. I knew I am just a small step until i reach my goal, so i have been tinkering Parallel’s setting this whole week. Finally!! I got it working!!!! I didn’t have the correct setting of DirectX support!! that was the problem! damn! Took me a while to figure that out~

Loading Parallel’s virtual machine is slow – that damn XP took forever to load every time and whenever that windows startup chime come up, it scare the hell out of me! seriously I don’t think i heard that sound for like years!!! (since work computer don’t have speakers and at home I am all mac out~) I am so unfamiliar with that sound that it just sound alien to me~

Zoo Tycoon crushes a few time, but so far it’s kinda stable once i tune up the memory setting. I am still not able to get Civ 4 Beyond the Sword expansion pack working though, the great leaders – well, let’s call them ghost leaders because most of them only has eyes moving around or a mouth – with invisible skins!!! eewww~ Not to mention the map is almost a mess, so I guess I’ll have to settle on just playing Zoo Tycoon 2 instead of Civ for now~

Still, I am happy~ I can finally breeding penguins and training dolphins on my computer! woo-hoo!! :)
