Something you just can’t carry with you

29 August 2007 243 views No Comment

One thing sucks about changing phone is that there are things in your old cell phone that you can’t take it with you. I am not talking about contacts because that is a non-issue with me since I have been using iSync to sync between my previous Sony Ericsson phones and my Mac, so all the contacts are the same as my address book in my Mac. I am talking about the text messages. It wasn’t a problem last time because I was still using the same network and pretty much just switch to a newer model of SE phone. But this time around, I am switching not only the phone, but also the network. I can’t do what I did last time by saving text messages on the SIM card and carried them to another phone. I can’t print, I can’t send them via bluetooth, there is no way of getting them anywhere. Not that I have any huge monumental messages that I need to keep, but there are some crazy, silly but cute messages from A that I carried over from my old old phone to my last phone. I do want to keep them if it’s possible. I can’t move them to my iPhone, I can’t move them to my computer. It’s not even in the phone’s memory, it sits in the now inactive SIM card waiting to be forgotten. Then again maybe I should just let it go, it’s not like they really mean anything.
