Break week sight-seeing
It’s break week again, not to mention the weather is perfect with its sunny sky and 60s cool temperature. To take advantage of such a perfect combination, I have been doing some sight-seeing all over the city for the past few days.
Monday: Meat Packing District
My main purpose was actually scouting in the neighborhood in an attempt to find a restaurant for my second birthday party~ (first one is all set and ready! hehe) I already did a lot of research online, so it was just walking around the area, looking at the restaurants. This is probably one of the least explored trendy neighborhood for me, so I am pretty amazed by what I saw. On the way I also found the future home of Apple’s third Manhattan store, the fame Little Pie Company, and a gigantic building on top of the Highline that sort of look like that giant walking machine in the Star Wars movies.
Tuesday: Lower East Side
LES is an amazing place where tiny shops and restaurants just pop up everywhere. It’s even more so than East Village which is a bit more residential in comparison! Anyway, Bowery surely will become a main street full of shops just like Broadway. Not to mention it has a unique monument of its own – the New Museum!
Wednesday: Midtown – Central Park
Midtown is always fun to walk through~ Great for people watching as well. The gadget flagship store you can hit is countless – from Nintendo to Nokia, from Samsung to Sony, and of course Apple. Throw in a few flagship location of some name branded clothing store, it’s heaven. I was original gonna visit the Central Park Zoo, but knowing I reach Central Park quite late, i rather not pay money to stay just for an hour, so I end up wandering within Central Park. I am not sure why, but the park looks a little dreamy this day, it’s definitely have that Alice in Wonderland feel to it – or maybe I am just saying it because I took picture of the Alice in Wonderland Statue in the park.
Check out the .Mac Gallery for pictures.
