Yet another one bite the dust
News has it that in February 2009, the Virgin Megastore in Union Square will be closed!!!! Everybody knows that Union Square is one of my all-time favorite hang out place, and Virgin is one of the key location for me to loitering around. Not only it has lots of things to look at to take up your waiting time, either for movie or waiting for people. It’s a great meeting place and it’s the only place that stays open passed midnight in the neighborhood! Tons of memories were generated in that store! I can’t believe this!!
I seriously hate what is going on with New York’s real estate business! They took away Tower Record on Broadway (which is kinda fine with me), they are taking away my Barnes & Nobles at Astor Place (closing in a few days!! I am so sad) and now Virgin??? The rent is going so crazy that not only small local businesses are disappearing, but now big chain stores too! What are they gonna replace it with? another bank? another gym? ahh, I hate it!

It’s one of the few places that you can find some rare import CDs other than online, no other big retailers carry this extensive stock of imports and rare music!
