A Stick with Fire
The Olympic Torch passes thru Hong Kong created all sort of excitement and trouble all at the same time. For a person who is not into sports at all, I seriously don’t see why the big deal is this at all! But apparently people cared a whole lot, from the list of people who would be carrying the torch, to the route, to the way people run, or even how they hold the torch become a point of criticism. I am fascinated by how attention grabbing this has become and how obsessive people are in Hong Kong. I mean, seriously, it’s a freaking stick with fire on it!! what’s the big deal? Will the Olympic not happen if there’s no torch? It still will! The whole thing is just ceremonial! You probably would argue with me about how it symbolize whatever spirit of the events, so fine! But to criticize the way people run? So the CEO of a certain network runs like a girl, what’s the big deal? we are suspected he’s kinda queer anyway~ Is it so surprising that he runs like a girl? and the point is, does it matter? as long as he ran and passed it on to the next person~ Same thing goes with a certain singer, he was criticized that he keep on switching hands when he was carrying the torch! Don’t you all remember that he’s famous for whenever he’s nervous his palm would sweat like hell? So much so that many times staff in stage would afraid that he would get shock by electricity by the mics he used! He’s switching hands a lot because he’s sweating like hell and afraid that it would get slippery and drop the damn thing!
Most of the criticisms are just picking something out of nothing, and I just found it hilarious that people pay so much attention to the whole event! To me, it’s still just a stick with fire!
