I take the G train up to Long Island City everyday to transfer to the 7 train to Grand Central. The transfer is an out-of-system metrocard transfer from the underground Court Square Station to the elevated 45th Rd – Court House Square Station above ground. It is not as convenient as other regular transfer where you never have to walk out the turnstile, but at least it isn’t too far away and it is still a transfer. From the look of things, this inconvenient and still acceptable …

According to the tenth Doctor David Tennant himself via an official statement, he will be leaving the role after the four specials in 2009.  Everyone has their own favorite Doctor.  To me, I like both the ninth Doctor and tenth Doctor, I think that Christopher Eccleston’s ninth Doctor is more confident and yet arrogant.  He is also just so fun all the time.  While David’s tenth Doctor is more geeky and quirky and more humane.  Then again because David is a lot cuter and his fashion is just so hipster-ish (You have no idea how …

Here is the international trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!  Not sure if it was old because it still said “This Year”, but still there is more footage than anything we have seen so far!  The scenes where Dumbledore went to retrieve the Horcrux looks totally kick-ass!!! Book 6 really is when the storylines coming together with all the suspense and danger kicks into high gear!  It’s gonna be awesome!! too bad we still have to wait til next summer!!

I have always thought Pokemon is totally adorable.  I watched most of the first anime series but because of time and schedule I stopped watching the following series afterward.  And since I didn’t have any game consoles or collect any Pokemon cards, I don’t have much dealing with Pokemon unless you count the occasionally encounter in the Nintendo World store or other video games or toy stores.
It all changed once Scott bought me the NDS 3 weeks ago!  First of all it’s a limited edition with Pokemon engraved on …

Apple today released this press release:

No on Prop 8

October 24, 2008

Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as…

This is an excellent clip highlighting the Department of Transportation did within less than 2 years’ time.  I know the clip is 10 mins long, but I think it’s worth it to see how DoT under the leadership of Janette Sadik-Khan changed some of the streets of NYC from deathtrap for pedestrian to open space for relaxation and enjoyment of city life.  Even though New York is such a fast-paced city, most public projects are slow as a turtle, many projects are so slow that they remain in drawing boards in years~ …

For lack of a better word, NYC subway system as a whole is, crappy.  I am not going to be a broken record complaining about the same thing over and over again.  (cos don’t get me started, I was late this morning because the 7 decided not to go into Manhattan~)  Despite its many flaws, there are some marginal improvements that creep into the system every once in a while.  The model R160 trains, the train arrival time displays on the L line, even the behind-the-scene line managers position are some of the improvements.  Now …

Remember those Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans from Harry Potter? John bought me a box and I was trying all kind of nasty flavors this past few days! Here is the order of awfulness:

Rotten Egg
Earthworm
Black Pepper
Vomit

I haven’t found Earwax and Dirt and Booger yet, and…

I was reading about this piece of news about Atheists plan an ad campaign on the side of London buses.  The ad has the slogan “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.”  There are two things that stand out on this that is very interesting to me.  First the reactions of the religious leaders in Britain were not hostile or anger or anything, but generally welcome the ad because they believe it will make people thinking and engaged them into questioning the meaning of life.  The …
