Pokemania
I have always thought Pokemon is totally adorable. I watched most of the first anime series but because of time and schedule I stopped watching the following series afterward. And since I didn’t have any game consoles or collect any Pokemon cards, I don’t have much dealing with Pokemon unless you count the occasionally encounter in the Nintendo World store or other video games or toy stores.
It all changed once Scott bought me the NDS 3 weeks ago! First of all it’s a limited edition with Pokemon engraved on it, plus he also bought me Pokemon Pearl. So all of the sudden I was throw back to the world of Pikachu and his pals! I level up to 30 or so on most of my Pokemons and have 4 badges already. I have old favorites like Psyduck and Magikarp and Onix but also some new ones that I love like, Shinx, Chimchar, and Starly. You got to hand it to the Japanese to combined the cutest characters ever with battling system that teach people about nature and animals and yet fun and also made them tons of money~ The game is addictive, I got to see all 500 different Pokemons!!!
Another fun part is just to name your Pokemons, my favorite name so far are mostly a play with actual word, like my Chimchar is called Chimpsum, my Magikarp is called Kingshi, my Azurill is called Bounzilla and this weird looking psychic Meditate, I called him Yogasan!
The weirdest creature I encountered so far is this Pokemon Girafarig, it has two heads, the front is like a Giraffe but its tail is also a head that is round and scary. It’s a good psychic fighter though and it loves to stomp people with its feet!
I know you would ask what’s the excuse for a 29 years old man to be obsessed with Pokemon right? but then again I am a geek, and I am Asian, and I am gay~ So I think that’s good enough reasons to allow myself to be less like an adult and be a child that’s into cutsy Japanese anime and toys~~
