Through out the month there were reports that a group of reenactment fanatic dressed up as barbarians and raided a few museums and library archives in the area. None were caught. The old caretaker of this tiny museum wasn’t worry. In fact there isn’t much he could do even if he is worried. The museum is too tiny and unimportant compared to all the other bigger museums and libraries in the area. The city used up their resources to boost the security at those locations. The few staffs left after closing hour and by now in the late evening the old caretaker is all alone. He is at the information booth putting the phamplets in the right place. Then he heard some noise coming from the gate. He looked at that direction wondering what will come through the front door.
“BAM!!!” with a loud noise the front door was busted open and a band of barbarian-looking group rushing into the museum. The old caretaker knew instantly that they are not reenactment fanatic but the real deal. Not just from their authentic clothes or the smell, but the ancient creatures that came in with them – giant gorilla and eagle like creature that does not belongs to today’s world! Soon the barbarians surrounded the information booth with the old caretaker standing in the middle. The leader of the group walked toward the caretaker and said something in a language that the old caretaker can hardly understood. He did caught one word from it all and with the barbarian leader’s gestures. The old caretaker knew they are here for one thing only – the Shield of Emerald.
The old caretaker know more than anyone in the museum about the emerald, including the museum director. He knew it from the first day he began working here a few decades ago that one day, someone will come for the emerald. When that happen he will need to lead them to the Scroll of Balance. So he lead the way and reach the scroll. He unlocked the protective case and reach for the scroll. He mumbled a few words and write on the scroll. He then give the scroll to the barbarian leader. The scroll has words that the barbarian understand. And as if the scroll has magical power. The old caretaker and the barbarian understand each other as if they are communicating in the same language. The old caretaker requested to leave. The barbarian leader knew that the scroll would tell him where the emerald is, so he waved at his troops to make way for the caretaker to leave.
When the old caretaker reached the gate, he turned back and screamed a word. A loud roared come from the inside of the museum. 3 paintings located in different area of the museum come alive. One of them depicted a group of 18 century British soldiers. One of them depicted an African chief with his mask on, and the last one depicted a pirate slaying an unknown sea monster. The British soldiers walked out of the painting and immediately go after the barbarians. They were led by a young handsome general. The African chief walked out of the painting and was confronted by the giant gorilla! The pirate however is still battling with the sea monster when he come alive, along with the sea monster. The sea monster splashed water all over the floor as it retreat its way from the pirate. The giant eagle saw the sea monster and couldn’t help itself but fly straight toward the sea monster ad if it saw lunch. At the exact moment when the eagle grabbed the sea monster, the pirate jumped toward them with his sword going straight down, penetrated both creatures. Goo and blood mixed with sea water splashed everywhere. The pirate turned around and yelled at the barbarian leader, “ya’ll miss me?”
While the pirate and the barbarian leader was in a heated battle and the British soldiers were rounding up the barbarians, the African chief was chasing the giant gorilla into the front yard where the old caretaker was still standing by the gate. The gorilla saw the caretaker and run straight to him! The old caretaker was inches from the jaw of the gorilla when the African chief’s spear stabbed the gorilla from the back, killing it instantly right in front of the caretaker. The African chief dragged the remain of the gorilla back to the museum. The old caretaker recovered from shock, walked slowly back inside the museum as the sun slowly rising.
All is quiet inside the museum. There wasn’t even any evidence to point to the chaos that happened in the past few hours. There wasn’t any blood, the floor wasn’t soaked with sea water. The old caretaker walked first to the Shield of Emerald, which is still at its rightful place. Then he walked around the museum to look at the three paintings: The one with the African chief is different because the chief is now standing on a dead gorilla; The one with the British soldiers has cages in the background where you can clearly see the captives insides were the barbarians; The one with the pirate changes the most - he was standing there in front of a dead sea monster and a dead eagle, while battling the barbarian leader! The old caretaker was satisfied with the result. He went to pick up the scroll and put it back where it belongs, and slowly walked back to the information booth.

In the dream I was the old caretaker, but I also have the third person point of view. The British general was Orlando Bloom, and the pirate is non other than Johnny Depp! I never learned the identity of the African chief.
