Follow-up on Comic Con
I didn’t buy anything in Comic Con, not because there was nothing that I wanted but because of some recent finance stress. There is something that I regard didn’t pick up though. I must have seen this artists’ work somewhere before, most likely on the web or son some tees or maybe in kid robot? I just love the creatures this artist Andrew Bell created. They are quirky and weird and adorable at the same time! So when I passed by the Dumbrella booth in Comic Con, I instantly recognized the creatures! There were two framed artworks there that I loved – because it’s a cute depiction of sushi!! but the second time I passed by they were sold out already. So yeah, now I regard not getting it the first time and is considering ordering it online.
Here is a little piece of news came out of Comic Con that I totally missed – Marvel announced that they will sell Motion Comics in iTunes soon. Motion Comics are digital comics with few animations to heighten the comic and with sound as well. It’s not a new concept because on iTunes Warner Brothers already selling Watchmen Motion Comic. I have the first episode and it was pretty cool. Still it couldn’t really tempted me to buy because I guess I am still not too familiar with Watchmen yet to really get into it. Another reason is that as I mentioned before I am not that into comics other than Buffy/Angel. This announcement might actually get me spend money on comics other than Buffy – Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men “Gifted” will be the first they will release in this format. Given how I like every Joss Whedon creations, this is enough temptation for me to dive right in. (I didn’t get it on plain comic format back then because I missed the first few and figure i’ll wait til the compilation book later on~)
