Goodbye the Green Demon

31 March 2009 250 views No Comment

lorneAndy Hallett, best known to us Buffy fans as Lorne, of the Deathwok Clan, passed away last Sunday at the age of 33.  He was battling heart disease in the past few years.

I was so sad when I heard the news! Lorne was such an awesome character that brought so much joy into Angel, which by all mean was not really a happy show! So much death and destruction! he was a spotlight, or a disco ball in that dark world!  Even though Lorne was a demon, well, he didn’t act like one, instead he became owner and host of a karaoke bar.  His power, aside from hitting all the right note and had a fantastic voice, he can read people’s soul through singing, which put a new twist on the idea of baring someone’s soul out when singing~ This flaming demon who was so Elton John , so memorable and yet at the end of the series when he was heartbroken because of the death of Fred, we all feel his pain even from all that green make-up~ that showed you how great an actor Andy Hallett was~ so thank you Andy for provided us so much joy and goodbye Green Demon!!

P.S. in another news, another Buffy/Angel alum, Willow (Alyson Hannigan) gave birth this same week to a baby girl on her own birthday! Her husband and father of the baby, as you know, is none other than Alexis Denisof – Wesley in Angel.  Birth and death all in one week, all connected by a show that was essentially about life, death, and immortality, such is life~
