Last night upon hearing the news, I post a few messages on Facebook about it. Then I stopped doing everything I usually do on a typical night. I didn’t watch tv shows, listen to music, read ebooks, watch YouTube, check Facebook, or eat dessert. All I did was holding onto his proudest creation, reading people’s remarks about his passing. I got teary eyes reading the President’s statement, then Walt Mossberg’s article recalling his past …

It’s been a while since I blogged, and I can’t really explain why. Maybe the muse is gone, maybe Facebook and Twitter combined took away the need to blog, or simply I have nothing to say. Nah, not that, I have a lot to say, I just can’t put them down in word anymore. Something’s changed, and I don’t know what. It doesn’t matter cos this post is about something else, and I should start talking about that!
It’s been about a month since I have the …

Once you switch to Mac you never go back. It certainly is true in my case. I got my Powerbook G4 in 2005 and within months I have gone exclusive and ditch my PC desktop. A year later I got the white 24″ iMac. Four quick years passes by and with my move to the new apartment, a new addition to the Mac family is warranted…

After a 3 hours wait at the 14th Street Apple Store on the launch day, I got my new iPhone!! I always said descriptions, specs, pictures don’t do justice to an Apple product. You can to see it in person and touch it with your own hands to really understand what it is. Same situation with iPhone 4. The press all said how good the physical design and screen is, but it will still manage to wow you when you see it for yourself!
The screen is crystal clear and with …

There used to be an app on the iPhone called Simplify Media. What it did was to stream the music that was sitting in your home computer to your iPhone over the air. No matter where you go you would have access to every song in your library, as long as you have cell reception. It works as advertised but for my huge iTunes Library, it seems a bit slow. Not to mention as a New Yorker, I dash in and out of the subway all the time, if I …

I just got another iPhone case. Which is case # 3 since I got the iPhone 3GS last summer. Yes I know, it’s been 9 months and I already bought 3 cases. With the rate this is going, I will probably spend more on cases then the amount I spent on buying the phone itself! But everybody knows how picky I am, and iPhone cases are like clothes, after a while you are just gonna need to update your wardrobe! I am not going to go all the way back …

Despite being such a geeky person, I am still very much on the outside of the comic book world. The comics that I buy and read regularly is only the two TV tie-in – Buffy and Angel. Yet I am fascinated by the digital comic scenes. The idea that you can just get whatever comics you like delivered to your devices is amazing. I know that’s the same as the ebook market and I have a different opinion to ebooks and regular books. I still …

Whenever Apple comes out with a new product, the first thing people talked about is what the product can not do, what it’s missing. And because of all these things that other competing products can do and Apple’s cannot, a verdict is issued that Apple’s product will fail miserably even before the product itself is available in store. We saw that in iMac, where people decried “there’s no floppy drive! It only comes with USB port but not the other legacy ports!” We saw that with iPod, “oh no! there’s …

Momento is a diary app on the iPhone. It is an app that makes me love my iPhone even more, and I didn’t think it is possible. One of the most gorgeous and elegant app out there. I can’t believe how pretty this is. There is a million note taking app out there, in fact the iPhone comes with one. It’s true that an app that has text input can serve the function of a diary because all you are doing is recording a memory …

I discovered another playlist generating app called Groove. Compare to Moodagent, while gave you more control when creating the playlist. Groove give you more choices instead but with little control. Groove get the music information from Last.fm and then generate a playlist that go well together. Well, that’s kind of standard right? and Moodagent can let you control what can be in the playlist and if you don’t like something you can delete the individual songs. The uniqueness of Groove is all the other choices …
