Yesterday I tried out this Japanese/Italian fusion restaurant called Pasta Wafu. It served as the name implied, Japanese style pasta! The place itself is hard to find because it’s sharing the space with another restaurant called Ramen Setagaya. (which I have yet to try, but it looks totally packed and could be good~) They share the same entrance. Ramen Setagaya is in the front, while Pasta Wafu is in the back. It is quite confusing as a set up because during the meal we actually …

I never have an Aoyagi Sashimi before, but look at this picture and the good review given by Gothamist. Here’s a quote from them:
“One of the advantages of the aoyagi’s size is that it can prepared several ways in one serving. On the left are ribbons of clam meat, which had a slightly crunchy texture and tasted of the sea. In the center is some chopped clam that had been mixed with soy sauce and had a little dollop of crazily good green pepper paste. The tiniest dollop of …

I finally finally have a chance to try out Zenkichi in Williamsburg after finding out about it a year ago. Inside is as mysterious as outside. You would constantly have the feeling of where am I when you are inside. If not because of all the hostess and waitress in the restaurant, you will definitely get lost! Interior is very secluded that it really feel like you are in another world. Each table is separated by wooden walls and bamboo curtains so that you would …

My favorite new flavor of Calpico! Hello Kitty Lychee Calpico! It might be the best flavor they ever have because they just go together so naturally. It’s a perfect match! Much better than Mango Calpico~~ Once you tasted lychee you’ll never go back~ It’s indeed the “Queen of Fruits” just like what Hello Kitty kindly informed me~

It’s Restaurant Week again, this time I went for both dinner and lunch.
For dinner, I went to Mercer Kitchen. I always wanted to go to Mercer Kitchen because it’s on the same block as Apple Soho on Prince Street. I passed by there numerous time and always wanted to check it out because there’s a constant stream of limos lining up outside on Mercer Street. The restaurant has two floors, we were sat at the basement level right beneath the sidewalk of Prince Street. It was …

I head down to Williamsburg with my roommate today for brunch. We went to a lovely Italian Restaurant called Aurora. It’s hidden on Grand Street far away from the busy main area of Williamsburg. A bit of a walk, but it’s such a nice space, dark wood and brick are the main theme inside, in addition there is a nice outside patio with a dark brown tent with transparent ceiling. Food is great, i can’t wait to try out a dinner over there.Afterward we walked over …

It’s ridiculously hot outside. Normally I would stay in my all AC environment at home and not going out, but today I have a mission: The more I watch Planet Earth, the more I want to play with animals that was featured in the show! The only way I can do that would be to play Zoo Tycoon 2! (until Scott reminded me that I can also go to a real zoo – but that’s not the same! I can’t have power over the animals in a real zoo!!) …

Looks like the internet is back on and here to stay~ thank goodness!!I didn’t have a chance to write about Fourth of July because of this internet outage, so here’s a re-cap:
Brunch with friends at Norma’s. Never been there before, I was expecting expensive and tiny portion – but surprise surprise! Price is still what I expected, but the portion is surprisingly big and filling. Definitely a good place for brunch. Afterward we just wandering around in midtown. We found another branch of Kate’s paperie though! …
