Name a movie that has you crying in the first 10 minutes and touches on mature issues like being poor, miscarriage, old age, death of a loved one, and fulfilling an unfinished dream of a loved one. Name a movie that the lead is an retired age old man and a boy who was abandoned by his father because he got re-married. Name a movie that has all that and can still be entertainment and fun in the end. UP is such a movie, and it’s not …

Despite my dislike for Ben Stiller, the first Night at the Museum movie was surprisingly enjoyable. Maybe it’s because of the museum/history geek inside me or just that there’s so much going on that I can pretend Ben Stiller isn’t really there~ Fast forward to a second Museum movie, this time the setting is mainly at the Smithsonian in DC. I didn’t quite enjoy it this time around because the whole plot seems completely forced, everything happens because they need to make a sequel! I know I know, …

The Terminator Series, no matter how good the individual movie is, as a whole is still a mess due to the fact that time traveling is essential in the story and it’s getting harder and harder to explain what’s going on with each additional movie. Terminator Salvation smartly avoid sending anyone back in time, but it received the damaging end of the time traveling storyline of the series. Set in the future after Judgement Day where Skynet ruled humanity with their machines, with tiny pockets of resistance spread …

Angels & Demons is the sequel to the movie Da Vinci Code, but as a book, it was the prequel to the book Da Vinci Code.  Fans of the book series would no doubt annoyed by this arrangement, but the continuity between the stories is minimum, so it’s not a big deal to me.  Tom Hanks seems to be younger in this movie, it could be that he’s in a better shape or just simply a better hairstyle! There’s still big topic in this movie, this time around is about science …

Judging from my stats of the blog, I know there are tons of Twilight fans out there.  So here is the hot new release of the teaser poster of New Moon!

Looks awesome! doesn’t it? I like the moodiness and the use of earthly color brown!  Not to mention the tension between Jacob and Edward! And that shirt that Edward was wearing? I love it! where can I buy that?

Despite being such a geeky person, I was never into Star Trek, in fact, I never watched any of the Star Trek TV shows or movies. So aside from the name of Captain Kirk and Spock and the actors behind them, I know nothing about the Star Trek universe. (well, maybe i do know about their ship is USS Enterprise and George Takei and Patrick Stewart and the weird hand gesture for the trekkies…but that’s about it) Therefore I am completely “new” when watching JJ Abrams’ new …

Wolverine was never my favorite X-Men character, but you can’t deny that he is intriguing and a favorite by many others.  Hugh Jackman’s version in all 3 X-Men movies is even charming as well.  So what about this Origin movie of Wolverine? I am disappointed just by the concern itself, i mean, if you take away the mystery behind the character, what’s the fun of it? Not to mention his origin isn’t as intriguing once you found out the details!  Another disappointment of the movie, it gotta be Ryan Reynolds. …

Given that my posts about Twilight, particularly Jacob Black are the most viewed pages on my blog, I just can’t help it to post another Twilight-related news~
So the latest news for the sequel New Moon is the new cast picture for the wolf pack! They casted the wolf members and the first promo image is available.  Noticeable missing in the picture is our main wolf Jacob, I suppose Taylor Lautner want to work out a little bit more before he pose for shirtless shot~ :p
As for  the third …

The worst offense a movie can do to its source material is to take its name and characters only and then completely rewrite the plot. Dragonball Evolution while it does retain certain plot elements, the story is completely altered that fans of the oirginal manga or the anime series would surely be disappointed. It is true that it’s not possibly to jam a 150 episodes worth of stories into a 2 hours movie. I think the writers did an okay job of putting as many recoginzable elements as possible …

Sometimes the overly famous voice talents could overshadow an enjoyable animated movie. Such is the case for Monsters vs. Aliens. It’s still an enjoyable cute movie, but I found myself very conscious of the voices behind the characters. Maybe because this time around I know some of the voices way too well? For example, the character Susan, the whole time I was like, Reese Witherspoon! Stop sounding like this is one of your romantic comedies! Or Paul Rudd, as the jerk Derek, who sounded like his other …
