I heard of MOMA’s P.S.1 Contemporary Center in Long Island City for the longest time, but never really went to check it out until now.  Maybe because I just dunno how to appreciate Art, but almost everything in PS1 are too “contemporary” for my taste! The whole time I was like, “What am I looking at? Why?” And for your information I don’t have that problem when I go to the Main MOMA in midtown, I enjoyed it there.

When I first saw the picture of Ernesto Neto’s anthropodino art installation, I thought it’s futuristic and beautiful.  But I didn’t have a chance to see it for myself until now.  Maybe it’s the end of the exhibit and then too many people have been tampering it, it just doesn’t look as good up close and personal!  The scale of this thing is still huge,, but maybe because the color was more subtle than I thought, it just mostly appeared as a giant white drip cloth than anything else.  Plus …

During my pillage of retail stores today, I passed by 53rd and Park and found a disturbing scene. Colorless Hello Kitty statues hiding in a courtyard of an office building! I obviously have no idea since there wasn’t anything to indicate why they are there and for what purpose. To me it’s just a bit creepy to see them so colorless, cos I am so used to all the pink and red colors for this iconic character…

I didn’t buy anything in Comic Con, not because there was nothing that I wanted but because of some recent finance stress.  There is something that I regard didn’t pick up though.  I must have seen this artists’ work somewhere before, most likely on the web or son some tees or maybe in kid robot? I just love the creatures this artist Andrew Bell created.  They are quirky and weird and adorable at the same time! So when I passed by the Dumbrella booth in Comic Con, I instantly recognized the creatures! …
