While working on my new wizard theme, I was increasingly frustrated by the lack of progress Blogger made in term of features. Granted they do add features and made progress on improving the system, but they are just too slow compared to the others. If you look at their blog post for the last 4 months, they did 4 bug fixes, add the feature of scheduling future posts, support for embedding Google Docs, a blogroll list, and restore the accounts that were mistakenly marked spam! Ever since I started on Twitter I found myself blogged less on Blogger. In theory the two shouldn’t affect each other, one is microblogging that limit you to blog within 140 characters and mostly talk about what are you doing right now, the other one is real blogging for unlimited writing for as much as you want. The latest company that ends up in Google’s shopping bag is – FeedBurner! Not sure how it will affect bloggers like us who uses FeedBurner for the RSS feeds. You think they will integrate FeedBurner with Google Analytics or maybe become a standard part for Blogger? Possibility is endless since acquired by Google usually means swimming with tons of cash~ Integration with other Google products that I have already been using is totally welcome, one single log-in is better than having 5 different ones~

Finally, Blogger Beta now bring back the support for html editing. I have been waiting for this feature to customize the new template so that I can take advantage of the new features and yet retain my just updated blog design. However, the fine print for the html editing is that the template language is now completely different, so users beware. Because of the recent makeover of this blog, I was going through all the features and improvements i want to add to the blog, there are some feature that I want but wasn’t supported within Blogger. It still can be done but needed some complicated third-party solution. Well, the new Blogger beta came out this week and I am happy to learn that what I want is finally supported! It’s tags!
