While I think the final poster of Twilight looks horrible – Seriously Edward suppose to be the most handsome, not most creepy! the final trailer looks a lot better and actually looks like it gets the mood of the story right.  I still question the way they sell the movie by focusing on the action – there’s not that much action in the book at all, it’s essentially a romance story!  But hopefully they will make a decent adaptation of the book that could lead to the rest of the …

The teaser for “New York I Love You” is finally out in the open! I have been waiting for it for a while now. The first film in the series “Paris, je t’aime” was a film that I really like a lot. This time around the setting is, as the name suggested, move to NYC! I did not just anticipate the film solely on the ridiculously large ensemble cast, but behind the scene talents as well. Numerous directors take part in this project, including my favorite guy …

Summer movies are all exciting and fun, but my August, I dunno about you, I am all tired of all the big actions and special effects. I was craving for dramas and indie flicks, so the last few weeks either in the theater or at home, I watched a few “smaller” foreign movies. (I wasn’t sure which studios are behind these movies, but all the locations and at least most of the talents in front of the screens are foreign.)
First up is a dramatic period piece called Brideshead Revisited. Based …

When I first heard of “Twilight”, all I know was that it’s another young adult series that got greenlight into a movie starring Cedric from Harry Potter. I didn’t think too much about it because the description was just pretty much another vampire movie. Months passed and then the first trailer and poster start popping up online, the buzz gets louder. The trailer doesn’t show anything we haven’t seen in other movies before, but somehow this movie just got my attention – obviously having Cedric – Robert …

Another reason for me to get excited at Pixar’s upcoming WallE! apparently WallE’s love interest in the movie – Eve, her design was the result of consulting Apple’s design guru Jonathan Ive! No wonder she’s all white and round and all integrated and can see no obvious moving parts! She’s so Apple that I am so eager to see if I can spot an Apple logo somewhere on her!! haha~
BTW, I will probably buy the Ultimate WallE robot! hehe

A week off comes to an end, so what did I do? I am too lazy to write a detail post, so here’s a list:
Museum:
Madame Tussauds Wax Museum – what’s more fun than taking naughty pictures with wax figure of your favorite celebrities?
Movie:
Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who – Surprising good!!!!! Steve Carell and Jim Carey are funny as hell~ and a very touching message of tolerance that hits close to home.
DVD:
August Rush – Not as bad as people said, I rather like it. Maybe it’s because I like felicity …

Finally have a chance to watch Resident Evil: Extinction. I have always found the Resident Evil series to be entertaining and usually a good B movie, this last of the series is no exception. (they will probably make a fourth eventually, but until then~) It’s a refreshing take to the genre because this time most of the film take places in board daylight, in the dessert – you know, a setting more appropriated for the mummy! Zombies in the traditional popular culture sense just don’t go out during the …

Is it come kind of rite of passage for big scary monsters to come to New York? If they don’t come to New York, would they be teased back in monsterland? Anyway, As you all know Cloverfield is about yet another big scary monster come to destroy New York. Overall I was entertained. I didn’t get motion sickness by the shaky film and what’s on screen doesn’t look too low-budgeted. I have my shares of complain about this movie though, here are a few:
1) Some of …
