Andy Hallett, best known to us Buffy fans as Lorne, of the Deathwok Clan, passed away last Sunday at the age of 33.  He was battling heart disease in the past few years.
I was so sad when I heard the news! Lorne was such an awesome character that brought so much joy into Angel, which by all mean was not really a happy show! So much death and destruction! he was a spotlight, or a disco ball in that dark world!  Even though Lorne was a demon, well, he didn’t …

It’s welcoming news to know that someone else besides me has problem with things that is wrapped with indestructible packaging that require not only a pair of super scissors but occasionally chainsaw and flamethrower! Who knows how many times I cut myself when opening these crazy packaging!! I often wonder why they need to be so complicated and difficult to open hard plastic shell packaging for a cheap 15 bucks memory stick or 3 sides sealed shut DVDs! You don’t see them do the same to the easily crushable eggs or light bulbs…

I was reading about this piece of news about Atheists plan an ad campaign on the side of London buses.  The ad has the slogan “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.”  There are two things that stand out on this that is very interesting to me.  First the reactions of the religious leaders in Britain were not hostile or anger or anything, but generally welcome the ad because they believe it will make people thinking and engaged them into questioning the meaning of life.  The …

How scary it is that the fame National Debt Clock Sign in Midtown isn’t big enough to keep track of our national debt!?  It doesn’t have enough digits because our national debt has zoom passed $10 trillion!! The sign needs a 14th digit!!  Currently it’s borrowing the space of the digital dollar sign until they add another digit in.
I remember way back, before I actually live in New York. I was visiting as a tourist when I was 11.  I saw that sign and it left a big impression of …

As a librarian (can I still call myself that even if i don’t work as a librarian anymore?), this piece of news from Times magazine is disturbing:
Stein says that as mayor, Sarah Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. “She asked the library how she could go about banning books,” he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. “The librarian was aghast.” That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn’t be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had …

So Mayor Bloomberg’s Congestion Pricing plan is pretty much dead unless there’s a miracle. Thank you Albany for sitting on their asses and do nothing at all, as always~ Now $500 millions is gone and now we’ll almost sure that we’ll have to pay for $3 per subway ride or $116 monthly metrocard~ we can also kiss the rest of the second avenue subway (aside from the 3 stops in UES) goodbye~ Those people up in Albany it’s not like they take subway to work everyday (unlike 95% of …

It’s up to the Dutch, the motherland of Wind Power to reinvent the “wheel” (pun intended)! The Dutch iis obviously famous for their traditional windmills, but they also have a lot of modern industrial windmill that generate power from the wind, but they are kinda not that fit into the scenery if you ever seen the modern windmills – just a whole bunch of white tall huge fan stick to the ground~ well, take a look at the pictures here!!!! How cool are these!!!!!!
