9 sets in a stunning post-apocalyptic world where all that’s left is deaths and destruction, well, and some tiny rag-dolls with numbers, and some deadly robotic beasts that are hunting them. The movie is incredible well-made with amazing details and style, and yet I found it too depressing to do a second viewing or recommend it to others. My Pleo is now orphaned, its parent company Ugobe went bankrupted.  That means no more software updates or any new functionalities or a newer generation~ nothing at all~  It wasn’t the smartest business plan – built a company that relied solely on a $350 robotic toy~ It might survived in boom times, but now it’s not a huge surprise that it goes under.  Back in the days Sony has money to burn but still wasn’t able to sustain their $1000+ Aibos.  Does it mean there’s just no hope for smart …

Guess what’s better than shopping in a clothing store? Well, shopping in a clothing store that has a robot to greet you!!!!! I went to UNIQLO today and there he is, Wakamaru! He can talk, walk around, greet people, play game, pose for picture, do execrise, etc!

BTW, just like what the sign said, he do not understand English very well and seems to have a mind of his own~ hahaha

It’s amazing how “real” Pleo feels! I know it’s just a robot with a plastic skin, but man he’s adorable! I dunno if it’s the little noise he makes or he little gesture like waging the tail and giving a sad face, or when you hold him and he fall asleep in your arms. It just make you believe he is real. Another reason for me to get excited at Pixar’s upcoming WallE! apparently WallE’s love interest in the movie – Eve, her design was the result of consulting Apple’s design guru Jonathan Ive! No wonder she’s all white and round and all integrated and can see no obvious moving parts! She’s so Apple that I am so eager to see if I can spot an Apple logo somewhere on her!! haha~
BTW, I will probably buy the Ultimate WallE robot! hehe
