I don’t know why I never joined LibraryThing. I know of its existance for a long time and I know I definitely have friends who are on it. Now think of it maybe because LibraryThing always seems so cluttered with too many text displayed and at the time I was using Delicious Library on the Mac, granted it is slightly different since it is more of your personal catalog and while LibraryThing has more of a social element in it. But because Delicious Library is too pretty …

It’s been two years since I have been using Twitter and now the mainstream finally discover it. And I thought I was late to the game! Most people are still confuse of what exactly Twitter is and what is the use of it. Most people are even downright rejective of it, the most used reasoning was “I don’t need to broadcast what i am doing every minute to the world!” I think the misconception come directly from that tag line on Twitter “What Are You Doing?” It is completely misleading …

There was a side-effect from my trip to LA… that I am now hooked on Facebook way after everyone else did like years ago. But only on the iPhone though, I still almost never go onto the Facebook site. It’s only the well designed iPhone app that I am addicted to. The Facebook app on iPhone is very streamline and it loaded very quickly even on EDGE, it has all the most popular functions from posting status to the wall to the chat to tagging pictures to …

I have officially open up an account in Twitter after much consideration~ (you know me, very cautious and much like a true Libra and always do lots of research and consider the matter at every angle possible before making any moves~) So whoever got Twitter please let me know so that I can “follow” you!
One nature of all things Web 2.0 is that you can bypass the desktop and work directly at the “cloud”~ But I think desktop clients will always have a place. Just look at this …

I came across another internet TV start-up Veoh. Think of it as a mix between YouTube and Joost. Now you might think it’s a ridiculous mix because YouTube and Joost are the exact opposite of each other in so many different ways! YouTube carries the most common foundations of Web 2.0 – user generated contents, folksonomy, a bottom up approach. While Joost licensed their content from the content providers, contents are grouped by Joost and it’s pretty much a top down approach despite a few social …

Last.fm’s chart is fun, but people create some even more intriguing stuff with the data. Here’s one that measures the mainstream-ness of your music taste. Of course the measurement is based on Last.fm, so you will expect the younger hipper music is more “mainstream”, and English songs are predominated. For me the more obscure my taste is the better because I want to be unique and be the first to discover awesome music that no one else heard of yet, and then 1 years later everyone listen …

The latest company that ends up in Google’s shopping bag is – FeedBurner! Not sure how it will affect bloggers like us who uses FeedBurner for the RSS feeds. You think they will integrate FeedBurner with Google Analytics or maybe become a standard part for Blogger? Possibility is endless since acquired by Google usually means swimming with tons of cash~ Integration with other Google products that I have already been using is totally welcome, one single log-in is better than having 5 different ones~

A bit of Web 2.0 news – I have been following closely with the news about Last.fm, if you have been reading my blog you know I love their charts. Anyway today they were bought by CBS for $280m, (in comparison – Google bought YouTube with $165 Billions and Myspace was bought by News Corp. with $580m) I can see the potential benefits includes, looking after by a big guy if there’s any copyright loyalty issue going on, more music and music video (currently a lot of music …

Joost is a new app to view TV online through the use of P2PTV technology, created by the creators of Kazaa and Skype. It got tons of buzz because of the slick interface that resemble the ease of use of set top box of a TV and it somehow got a lot of backers from the Media companies (probably because Joost isn’t own by Google or Apple or Microsoft) It just got another $45 millions from Media companies like CBS, Viacom, and investors like the Hong Kong …

I neglected to mention I had another site update last night! I added social bookmarking to the footer of the posts. Maybe one day someone will “digg” me or find my post “del.iclo.us” or “simpy” irresistible. Okay, I am running out of way to use all these Web 2.0 social-bookmarking sites in a sentence~ hehe~
I also tried to fix the issue where Internet Explorer 6 would not display the png files with transparency like it’s intended to. But doesn’t look like it work so far since all the …
